The 138th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) will be held in three phases in Guangzhou from October 15 to November 4. Reporters learned from the Department of Commerce that our province will have an impressive exhibition lineup this year.
The exhibition scale has reached a new historical high. The number of participating enterprises from our province (including Zhejiang, Hangzhou, and Ningbo trade delegations) has exceeded 7,000, with nearly 16,000 booths, accounting for more than one-fifth of the total number of export exhibition booths in the country, setting a new historical peak. Among them, the Zhejiang Provincial Trade Delegation has over 9,400 booths and more than 4,600 participating enterprises, with 744 new participating enterprises (compared with the previous session). All data rank among the top in various provinces and cities across the country.
The smart field is activating new momentum. This session of the Canton Fair continues to develop the service robot zone and adds a smart medical zone for the first time. More than 20 enterprises from our province, such as Deshi Biology, Kangji Weijing, and Boring Brain-Computer, are participating, accounting for nearly 50% of the total number of enterprises at the fair, ranking among the top in various provinces and cities, and most of these enterprises are participating in the Canton Fair for the first time.
The number of high-quality enterprises is steadily increasing. In this session of the Canton Fair, our province has gathered a large number of high-quality enterprises with core competitiveness, including a total of 3,813 participating enterprises such as specialized, sophisticated, distinctive, and novel enterprises, "little giant" enterprises, and high-tech enterprises. Among them, the Zhejiang Provincial Trade Delegation has 1,738 national-level high-tech enterprises, 920 specialized, sophisticated, distinctive, and novel enterprises at all levels, and 51 single champion enterprises in manufacturing at all levels, laying a solid foundation for promoting the sustained and healthy development of Zhejiang's foreign trade.
For example, Haimen Door Control Co., Ltd. located in Huzhou will bring its developed underground door opener, which can bear a maximum weight of 450 kilograms. It can be used with intelligent access control products such as inductive probes, fingerprint machines, and face recognition machines to realize the automatic opening and closing of doors. "There are almost no similar competitive products for this product in the international market," the person in charge of the company said, expressing great expectation for this participation.
Relevant person in charge of the Provincial Department of Commerce introduced that our province will continue to take "Quality Zhejiang Products, Sold Worldwide" as the theme, and conduct centralized advertising for "Zhejiang Export Famous Brands" in crowded passages such as Areas A, B, and D of the exhibition hall, showcasing the high-quality image of Zhejiang manufacturing in an all-round and high-frequency manner. In addition, our province will actively participate in the new product release activities of the Canton Fair, recommending 69 enterprises and 160 products to the fair; and organizing participation in the "Automotive Parts Connecting the World, Starting a Win-Win Future" auto parts industry matching activity.
The exhibition area of this session of the Canton Fair is about 1.55 million square meters, with a total of 74,600 booths and more than 32,000 participating enterprises, all reaching new historical highs, and about 3,600 enterprises are making their debut.
In terms of investment promotion, according to the Ministry of Commerce, 18 new global partners have been added to this session of the Canton Fair, including the Brazilian Federation of Foreign Trade Chambers and the Netherlands-China Business Council, bringing the total to 227, covering 110 countries and regions. 207,000 buyers from 217 export markets have pre-registered, a month-on-month increase of 14.1%. Among them, the number of buyers from the EU, the United States, and countries along the "Belt and Road" has increased significantly.
